About the Facilitator

Mr. Richard Barnes-Bey is an educator and community activist. The Newark, NJ native is a graduate of Seton Hall University and has been facilitating the radio program for 18+ years.

Did You Know? Quest Community Vibrations was one of the first radio shows to play hip-hop.

Over the years the show has become more diverse, including R&B and Jazz into its spin list.  And while some things change...greatness remains. The segements used by students today are the same segments designed by Mr. Carter over 35 years ago. The segments allow student to present structured information about persons or events which affect their community. Overall students gain skills in broadcasting, writing, public speaking, marketing and more.

We also accept "Correspondents" for training - those who are unable to come to the studio. Correspondant can submit footage, interviews, pictures to be apart of the Quest Community Vibrations Experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
